Process monitor

gear Coming Soon!! This utility will monitor a process you specify and if the process should somehow terminate or stop unexpectedly, this utility will restart it, and optionally, it will also send you an email to notify you that the process has stopped and restarted.

This script is perfect for any server administrator who needs to be kept abreast of a critical server that may be running their mission critical application and they would like to be notified if and when the application has failed.

Many applications do not have a built in mechanism to recover from an application crash or notify you of the crash. This sofware is handy because if your application is consistently crashing, this software paints a picture that could be indicative of a pattern of problem with the system or something else and will help you troubelshoot the problem.

This tool was built out of a need to monitor a webcam software. I needed a way to find out if the application crashed because if the webcam software stopped working, then my security would be compromised as the webcam would not be able to record anymore. With this tool, I now know when the webcam software crashed and I know that this utility will attempt to restart the application.

Program Features:

  • Easy to use and configure
  • Software is a stand-alone application which does not need to be install.  Leaves zero footprint behind
  • Keeps detailed log of application crashes
  • One of a kind software on the market

Support

Q. When I use the Excel mode, I'm getting an "Array Variable" error.

ScriptError

A. At minimum, you should have at least 3 rows of accounts listed in the Excel spreadsheet.

Q. I ran the program and no accounts are created, why?

A. It is very critical that all syntax in the Excel file is correct. Please use the sample xls file that came with the program as a reference. The most likely cause is perhaps quotations marks are not being used around values which has spaces in them. FYI: You may use formulas such as CONCATENATE to generate quotes around values to make data entry quicker and easier. Please see the 2 minute tutorial on how to do this. In addition, if you are using Windows 7 as the client, make sure you that you run the program as admin. To do so, right click on the exe and choose "Run as Administrator"

A. Also, if you have the Remote Admin Support Tools installed, this program conflicts with some .exe program.  I recommend you run this program on another computer, preferably a Virgin computer that does not have anything installed besides Windows and Excel. I recommend using a Virtual Machine if you have one.  Use RDP to connect to your domain controller to check whether the accounts are created afterwards.

A. Another issue could be special characters.  Remove characters such as commas. We've seen it where if commas are in Column 5 or the Display/Common name, accounts will fail to create

Q. Can I run it under Windows 7?

A. We actually recommend that you run the software under Windows 7 or Windows XP because you'll need Excel installed for this software to work and why would you want to install Excel on a Domain Controller? So it should be runned on a desktop OS. Just make sure in Windows 7, to right click on the program and run as an Administrator.

Q. Why is the program so slow and it fails to create the accounts?

A. Again, the issue is likely the syntax of the Excel file. Make certain that your LDAP structure or DIT (Directory Information Tree) is correct and that column 6 is pointing to an OU that exists. For example, make certain that ou=users,dc=acme,dc=com does indeed exist in your organization. This example is fictitious so change accordingly. If you still have problems, please send us a sample of your Excel file and we'll be happy to look at it.

Printer Pricing

Our pricing for the network printer install is very simple. It is $1 per computer but the minimum purchase must be $15. Alternatively, a site-wide license is $495 and this may make sense if your company has many more computers than what the single license would cost. The registered version will not have the countdown screen and it will be licensed to your company name and it can be further customized to your liking.

If you are a independent contractor, I.T. Consultant, etc.. and wish to use this utility for your clients or customers, you must purchase a contractor license which is $395 and this allows you to use it for every 10 customers that you service. If your customers have 200 or more computers that need this software, please have each customer purchase their own license. Thank you for abiding by our licensing terms. Hard work is put into the creation of the software and revenue is not what you may assume.

Printer4All System Requirements

At this current time, this script will only work for Windows XP.  In Windows 7, sometimes this software works and sometimes it does not so we are not supporting Windows 7 installs.
